ブライアン・ジェイクス(Brian
Jacques 1939 - 2011） 最終更新日 2011/02/23 新刊１冊を追加 1939年、英国リバプール生まれ。15歳で船乗りとなった後、運転手、ボクサー、警察官など様々な職につく。1984年に盲学校での朗読のために書いた『勇者の剣』が、1986年に出版されて大人気となり、続編が「レッドウォール伝説」シリーズとして現在まで書きつがれている。邦訳には本シリーズの３冊の他、『幽霊船から来た少年』（酒井洋子訳／早川書房）がある。 （月刊児童文学翻訳2003年３月号より） 2011年２月11日、逝去。ご冥福をお祈りいたします。 |
